Tammi Lehto
Age: 41
Disciplines: Road, XC mountain bike and
hopefully some cyclocross this fall
Occupation: Director of Nursing - Houghton
County Medical Care Facility
Professional and personal:
I was born and raised in Lake Linden, MI so I'm
a native girl. Left for Central Michigan University
after high school for a few years where I was
a sports medicine/exercise physiology major. Decided
on a different career path so I found myself at
Northern Michigan University where I obtained
a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's
Degree in Nursing Administration. Relocated back
to the Copper Country in 1991 with my husband
Chris
and children (Trevor and Whitley, son Anders came
in 1994) and I'm currently the Director of Nursing
at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
I'm also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Besides biking I enjoy spending time with my family,
running (currently in training for my first marathon),
hiking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing, basically
anything outdoors and traveling. Our oldest son
lives in Boulder, Colorado (yes, I'm jealous)
which has given me the opportunity to call Colorado
a second home over the last several years.
Racing goals:
Ride smart, race fast, improve on times from last
year, hopefully stay injury-free and get dirty
(love getting dirty!)

5/17 Cable Off Road Classic Cable, WI
6/14 Chain Drive

First year of true racing!

2006 Highlights:
Spent the year enjoying the beauty of the outdoors
on my bikes. I was the biker on the 1st place
team in the coed division for the Copperman Triathlon.
