James Bialas Age: 31 Disciplines: Mostly mountain biking so far, but
I'll try anything. Experience: Complete novice, 2007 was my
first racing season. Occupation: System Administrator
Professional and personal:
I came to Houghton in 1995 as an undergrad at MTU.
I decided I liked it here and have since stayed
on and now wrangle computers for the West Engineering
Computing Network at MTU. I currently reside in
Askel with a surly malamute named Yukon. I'm also
a member of the Otter Lake Volunteer Fire Department
and Rallymaster for the Lake Superior Performance
Rally. In addition to racing and abusing bicycles,
I've been known to race and abuse cars and motorcycles
as well. Although no stranger to racing, the 2007
Keweenaw Chain Drive was the first athletic event
I competed in since quitting the football team to
join the debate team during my freshman year of
high school.
Racing goals:
Have fun, get faster, and hope nobody faster shows
up so I can stand on a podium once or twice this
summer.
