Chris Lehto
Age: 40
Disciplines: Mountain Bike XC, road (to train
for mountain biking)
Occupation: Certified Therapeutic Recreational
Specialist
Professional and personal:
Born and raised in Laurium. Left the Copper Country
long enough to go to school at NMU and than Central
Michigan University. I've been back here since 1991
with my wife Tammi.
We have three children. I work at the Houghton Co.
Medical Care Facility. I started biking, because
running wasn't for me and I needed something to
get myself in better physical condition. I have
been biking for awhile but, only recently got into
more serious riding and racing. Besides biking,
I enjoy camping in Copper Harbor with the family,
kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, traveling, including
to visit our very lucky eldest son in Colorado who
goes to school in Boulder, and I now enjoy running
(to train for biking).
Racing goals:
Goals for 2008: Race as fast as I am able, have
fun every time I ride my bike and improve on race
times from 2007. Also, be able to go downhill fast
without crashing.
