MTB Stage Racing
in PA
July
15, 2008 |
|
|
Cancel any plans
you have for July 4th weekend for the next few years.
You should be going to the Oesterling Farm in Marysville,
PA for the VisitPA.com MTB stage race. This is the most
fun race I have ever been to (sorry Sam, I never thought
something would pass the Fat Tire). Why? It's all atmosphere.
This entire race takes place on the race director's
in-laws farm. You camp and hang out in the back yard...

June
22, 2008 |
|

T his post or these
posts are long overdue. There have been some huge happenings
on the team that have nothing to do with riding and
racing, and we didn't even recognize them here. This
is more important than any race report...

Three
area riders headed south early Sunday morning to represent
the Keweenaw at Nine Mile’s Big Ring Classic. The temperatures
were high, mosquitoes out in droves and wood ticks looking
for fresh blood, but the RedJacket – BlueSky Health
Cycling team was successful.

Nine Red Jacket
- BlueSky Health racers were among a crew of about a
dozen that headed down to Rhinelander, Wisconsin for
the RASTA Rally. Leaving from The Bike Shop in a cold
drizzle, we got to Rhinelander (early) in time to see
the mercury begin its climb to about 75. The course
there is nearly entirely singletrack after the first
1.5 miles - a mix of roots, dips, and small rocks we
refer to as Kleinville. more

May
17, 2008 |
|
|
Six team members
headed up north to Copper Harbor for the Tour da Keweenaw,
despite a weather forecast of cold, wind, and rain.
The cold and rain of the early morning in Houghton gave
way to blue skies in the Harbor as Carp, John, Mark,
Bruce, Schmidty, and Steve tackled the 82 mile loop
of the northern Keweenaw. more

Health Cycling Team were among a 17 person/1 dog contingent
that road tripped to the first WORS race in Iola, Wisconsin.
The Iola Bump and Jump (at the ski jumping hill and
winter sports complex in Iola) proved a great beginning
of the season warmup for the team. The course was fast
with some good power climbing, but lots of big chainring
riding.more

Health Launches Event Calendar
April
28, 2008 |
|
|
The Red Jacket
– BlueSky Health Cycling Team is a busy group of individuals.
Not only are they racing throughout the Upper Peninsula,
Lower Peninsula, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, but many
of them are active members of cycling clubs in the Keweenaw
Peninsula.
The team's forum
was developed to facilitate communication between the
riders and to be the goto place for cycling information
for the Keweenaw and beyond. However, the forum provides
no way of easily organizing all the events the Red Jackets
participate in. more
