Last night marked the third week of the Red Jacket Wednesday night ride. Rides have included treks into southern Houghton county and outings north of the Portage Canal and out toward the big lake. Last week's ride finished at the starting point, The Bike Shop, where riders celebrated the shop's first anniversary with a pizza party.
The Wednesday night ride is a weekly ride starting at The Bike Shop at 6 p.m. All riders of all levels and abilities are welcome. It is a drop ride, meaning everyone rides for dear life. Red Jacket dirt girl, Diane Ursu, is willing to lead a social ride for those who just want to ride in a group at a sane pace. Diane is also leading random rides throughout the week. Rides are posted on the Keweenaw Trekker's email list and the Red Jacket – Bluesky Health Cycling Team Forum. All are welcome, so come out and enjoy the sunshine!
