Six team members
headed up north to Copper Harbor for the Tour da Keweenaw,
despite a weather forecast of cold, wind, and rain.
The cold and rain of the early morning in Houghton gave
way to blue skies in the Harbor as Carp, John, Mark,
Bruce, Schmidty, and Steve tackled the 82 mile loop
of the northern Keweenaw. Several team members anchored
the lead pack that worked together in the 22 mph swirling
headwinds and arrived first at the all important lunch
stop at Fitzgeralds. John outfoxed the peloton for the
prestigous Gay town limits sign.Chris, however, won
the al- important Cat Bay sprint, his first ever win
at this town line. Sam Raymond said that the funds raised
will go to support housing for the 8-10 Americorps volunteers
coming up to do six weeks of trailwork in the Harbor.
