Wendel Second, Klein Eighth in Rhinelander
May 28, 2009
Red Jacket - BlueSky Health rider Heather Wendel captured second place and teammate Mark Klein eighth overall in last weekend's Rasta Rally in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Also bringing home some hardware for their efforts were John Gershenson, second in the hotly contested 40-49 age group, and Pat Szubielak, who took top honors in the 50-59 bracket.

Ten Red Jackets made the 120 mile trek, as did thirty other Keweenaw riders, who, in total, made up thirty percent of the field. A strong statement about the state of cycling in the Copper Country.

The Rhinelander trails will be hosting the second WORS race of the season this coming weekend. Though to be run on a slightly different course, several Red Jackets are hoping to leverage their familiarity with the trails to their advantage against some of the best riders in Wisconsin.
